We’re always looking for contributing editors. So whether you’re a blogger, a photographer, an academic or an aid worker we’re keen to hear from original voices.
We’re particularly interested in multimedia work, so if you want to post monthly podcasts from the Congo, or a slideshow from Myanmar, then do get in touch. There’s no obligation attached to being a contributing editor, you only have to contribute once, and you can post as infrequently as you like.
The site has several sections:
The front page is for a more general audience, and is where we showcase the latest international development communications work, alongside community media projects, user generated photosets from Flickr, or documentary films.
The blog is aimed more at those working in international development, a place for those in the industry to write and debate the latest issues. We’re more than happy to take cross-posts from your blog on all aspects of international development, though we’re particularly interested in anything to do with communications.
The big picture section is specifically for photostories, but we’re happy to publish a single photograph if it’s strong enough. It’s worth noting that the technical quality of photograph needs to be quite high to work well at the large format. It’s also good to have accompanying text. We’ll of course add a link to your site, and add you to our list of contributing editors.
We’re a not-for-profit site, and we want to encourage the use of Creative Commons licenses in development communication work, to help spread messages further and faster. We don’t pay for any work submitted.
If you want to know more about what we do, then check out our about page.
You can submit work for inclusion in A Developing Story, by mailing us at:
